Most people wish that I could be exactly what they need or want me to be at any given time, depending on who and what they are and what they believe. Each person that I encounter looks at me and wishes and hopes that I will be exactly what they are looking for, even when they are not sure themselves what that might be. They want to see in me, something that will make them feel better about themselves, and they sometimes find themselves to be disappointed when I cannot give them exactly what it is that they are looking for.

They want me to be a general, a confidant, a confessor, a hypocrite, a savior, a warmonger, a peacemaker, a tyrant, a teacher, a student, a friend, an enemy, an advisor, and any number of other things.

The simple truth is, that I am none of those things, and I am all of them.

We all are.

You say that you are always ready to listen to someone. And you're a catholic priest, which would indicate that you might have some belief in angels, which is always a good thing for me. Because you are ready to listen, then I may also be correct in assuming that you are a good friend and one who understands.

I'm Gabriel. Take what information you want from that name, and what I've said and see if you can make up some answer as to what type of being I may be. I'm always in need of another friend, and I'm a good listener as well. So, I ask you two questions Darius. Would you be my friend? And, in assuming those things about you, am I anywhere near correct?

I too could always use another friend, and I do my best to understand and to be the kind of person that people wish to have as a friend.

That is good then, great even. I always love making new friends. Knowing that a person has faith is a welcome quality. Do not mistake me for disliking those who are different from you or me though, no, no. I know a lot of different people from many different walks of life. I just like the company, it doesn’t matter what kind of person they are. Though similarities, I must admit, are happily received.

You would not mind if I visit you at St. Julien's, would you? Sometime. Travelling is a thing that comes easily to me, and New York is a place that has been tugging at me for a while now. So, perhaps, it is an appropriate time to stop and stay for a while, for some kind of visit.

I too am quite content with talking with those of many ideas and backgrounds. It is amazing the things that you can discover that way, although I do enjoy talking to those that have the same beliefs as I do. It soothes the soul.

I would be delighted if you came to visit. I too recently was pulled to came to this city, and so understand the feeling.

Exploration of the world is great, isn't it? So much to do, so many people to see. There is a fountain of information and pretty things to look at all around us. Indeed, talking with people who are similar is a soothing activity.

Oh, that's splendid. Thank you. People like you sir, are very pleasant and easily likeable, and I praise you for that. In times of need you are comforting.
