WM - 49.10 - Character Dossier
Aug. 14th, 2008 11:44 amWhat does he or she actively work to gain or keep or protect - not merely say is important, but actually invest time and emotion in - money, fame, family, love, country, revenge, etc.
There are three things that intertwine in Darius’ mind that he works to uphold and protect: humanity, peace, and love. He considers humanity as a whole to be his family, his friends, and his people. He would be just as quick to save someone he has never met, as he would be to save a friend that he has known for centuries. For him, there is no real distinction.
His teachings to those that will listen are meant to show that we are all equal, and that there is no one who is more important than another. Love is something that should be given to all with equal measures, and that once man comes to realize this truth, then there can truly be the peace that Darius has worked towards for so long. It is a peace that Darius himself holds deep within his own heart, and it is that peace that is the reason for his attitude with regards to those around him.
In essence, he works to bring humanity the gift of peace through the teachings of love and true equality.
How would he or she describe himself or herself if totally honest?
Lucky. Lucky to have the people in his life that he has, and lucky to have the life that he lives. He knows very well what he might have been had he never run into Emrys, and he is more thankful than he could possibly say to the spirit of that man. He was given a gift that was more precious than anything he could possibly imagine, and he makes it his life’s work to try and give others that same gift. It is the least that he can do.
In a single word, how would YOU the author (or Mun) sum up this character/muse's attitude toward the world, interested, optimistic, defeated, Exploitive, compassionate dissatisfied, power mad, controlling, happy, etc.
Compassionate.
Would your character or muse agree with your assessment?
Yes and no.
Why or Why not?
He would agree with the sentiment, but I think the word that he would have chosen himself is hopeful. He is hopeful that one day the world will come to see all of humanity as he does; as one big family.
