Meme ~ Interview
Jun. 27th, 2007 10:30 amApparently, it is that time of year once again.
What is it you find most attractive in a woman? And to be fare, what do you find most attractive in a man?
"What attracts me to both men and women is very much the same actually. It is the spirit of a person that catches my attention. I am not attracted at all to people who would do anything to please, and who are broken by life. I prefer those with that inner fire that can rise above the things that life puts before them, and overcome them. However, if you wish to know physical attributes, then it is all in the eyes. They tell me everything I wish to know about a person in just one look, as they truly are the windows to the soul."
How do your reconcile our existence compared to that of Mortals?
"I believe there is little need to reconcile the two, any more than there is a need to reconcile the existence of lions compared to domesticated felines. We are part of a similar design that was simply split apart and progressed differently along the the path of evolution. I am sure there are many that would contradict me on that, by pointing out that we have no children, cannot die by most means, and that we gain this power by destroying one another, therefore we cannot come from the same stock. However, we are not truly that different, anymore than those felines are different. We have the same basic structure, needs, and desires as they do. We have simply progressed through time in a different manner."
As a man of the Cloth myself, I would simply ask, if you believe?
"I believe in the ideas."
What standards do you place on friendship?
"Above all things, loyalty. Everything else stems from that, and so it is probably the one real standard that I have when it comes to choosing the people that I would call friend."
I'm certain as a General you study others of this cut. There are dozens of great Generals I could ask about but let's speak of a modern one. What are your impressions of General William. T. Sherman's march through Georgia.
"All in all, I believe it was a well executed campaign. By getting what his troops needed by way of supplies from the land they traveled through, he made a supply line form the North practically unnecessary, which meant that if it was cut, they would not suffer much from the loss and could continue onward. By burning what they could not use, and destroying railways and other supply routes for the Confederates, he made it all that much harder for them not only in terms of supplies, but also the moral of the troops. He made sure to have various wings of his army make feints at various places along his route in order to keep his final destination a secret, which meant that the Confederates could not send a mass of their troops to any one place for fear of it being the wrong one, and therefore keeping them spread out and practically useless. All in all, it was a very good strategy for taking the heart out of the Southern people, and making them that much easier to defeat in the long run."
