Drabble for civ_barbarian

[on_holy_ground]

There were things in the General’s camp that no one dared talk about. Sounds that emerged from their leader’s tent that resembled the sounds they normally only heard in the heat of battle. It was something they had come to realize only happened when the commander with eyes that cut like winter ice was inside.

Once, one of the men had been dared to see what was happening, and he slipped quietly up and looked inside. Bodies covered in sweat, dirt, and blood locked together was all he glimpsed before he hurried away.

Swordplay, is all that he would say.
