Darius needed to get out of Rome for a few days. The situation between himself and Ynez had become increasingly difficult, and she seemed more distant now than she had before they had shared dinner in the hopes of getting things back to normal. Finally, he decided to simply go to Paris and see Edmond and Methos there, rather than having them meet him in Rome. It would be easier for everyone involved that way, Darius thought.

So, having informed Ynez that he would be leaving town to visit a friend for a couple of days, he got the first available flight from Rome to Paris. Once there, he made his way to Edmond's estate, and presented himself at the guardhouse. "Please inform The Count that Darius is here to see him."

The security guard calls into the main house and after a few moments he opens the gate and allows him in. Edmond is waiting for him outside, although Methos is not.

Darius walks up to Edmond, smiling slightly. "My apologies for arriving unexpectedly. Something came up that required my attention here, and so I thought perhaps I would simply stop by."

"It is no trouble. My home is yours for as long as you would like. May I ask what required so much attention?"

Darius wasn't sure how to explain the simple fact that he simply needed to give someone some space in the hopes of not destroying the relationship that had been built.

"It is...complicated."

Of course, he also didn't realize that by saying it that way, he had practically shouted out that he was having problems with a woman.

Edmond's eyes turn dark for a moment as he thinks of Fernand and of the fact that was the exact thing he said to him. Of course, it was about a woman and...so much more.

"It's fine. Do you need to stay here? Do you have bags? My people will bring them in for you."

"If it is not a burden, then I would like to stay a few days. I only have one bag. I left it at the gate when I arrived."

He nods towards the gate and then gestures towards the door, "Come in. Methos is waiting inside."

Darius walks towards the door, glancing around as he does so. "He is still here then? I admit, I'm rather curious as to why."

The Count grins as he escorts him in, "It's complicated."

He chuckles softly at Edmond turning his own words against him. "It would seem that many things are, these days."

"He's actually on the phone with his complication now." He leads him through the house, "It's been a long time, Darius. I wish that it was under better circumstances."

"As do I, Edmond. I am hardly the same person as I was when we met last, although I am sure that you are not the same either. For me though, it has been a very long time."

"Darius, I know about what happened. Methos told me and we also believe that you are the one that killed the watchers."

They are now standing at the study and he looks at him for answers.

Darius looks at him with no regrets and no apologies for what was done. "I was helping an old friend take care of a personal matter. Frankly, I was not all that concerned with killing them anyway, considering my own death at their hands once upon a time."

"Not all of them killed you, but if that is how you feel then I can't argue with you. I know all about revenge, although our cases are clearly vastly different. He will not understand, though, as well as I. Although, worrying about his feelings is perhaps something that you do not do now that you are the general. Do you want a drink?"

He gestures towards the bar as he gets himself a scotch.

"I will take whatever you are having, thank you."

Darius walks over to one of the chairs and settles down, watching Edmond as he made the drinks. "He should understand, all things considered. However, considering his association with said organization, I can understand if he does not."

"He had friend that you killed. Friends who were still part of it after his departure."

He offers him a scotch as well and hands it to him. "However, he isn't here to fight. When have we ever known him to do so? He's upset, but he's hear with a warning."

Darius lifts an eyebrow slightly as he takes the drink. "I wonder if he is aware of the reasoning behind the attack, but I suppose it hardly matters. I will listen to what he has to say, of course."

"I suppose that is why you are here, to tell us. We are both curious to hear it."

"Me too." Methos says, walking into the room.

Darius nods in greeting to the other immortal as he enters, and takes a sip of his drink before setting it on the table beside his chair. "It would seem that there are still pockets of Hunters in the organization, and a group of them made a strike at one of ours. There method was beyond inhumane, and their target was a major error in judgement."

Methos nods and watches him, "Who was the target this time?"

He sighs softly as you would think that they would know better after going against MacLeod because of Darius.

"Hsu Danmei."

Darius watches Methos, cocking his head slightly as he considers the other man. "You were helping him with it as I recall. Or rather, another you was helping him. I have heard that there was some kind of dimensional shift that left alternate versions of some people in our own world. One of which was you."

It had been one of those things that had been unexplained, much like Darius' own return from the dead.

"I know nothing of it, but I don't doubt it. If it was Hsu Danmei, then I would have helped him anyway that I could. I would have thought that the watchers would have more sense then to assume to attack Hsu."

He shakes his head, "I'm not here to fight you or your reasons behind it. I'm here to tell you that you started a war and now ALL of the watchers are preparing to kill us ALL."

"That isn't all." The Count says, "They will do anything to destroy us. They will threaten to make our lives hell by telling the world of what we are and how to destroy us."
