RotM ~ 1.88 Mun Prompt ~ New Year's Resolution

What is your New Year's resolution as the writer for this muse? Is there something that you want to explore with them this year? Look ahead at your muse's 2008, and consider what you will do the same and differently.

Well, to start out with I now know that I can’t write him as the General. I mean, obviously I can since I did so for the better part of 2007, but it’s not something I want to play with again anytime soon. He’s hard enough to write as the priest, but trying to get past all that to him being the warlord he once was is beyond difficult. It was a great exercise for the both of us, and I know that it was helpful for some character insight I was looking for, as well as some changes that I wanted to make for his roleplaying. However it’s not something I can do on an ongoing basis. He simply doesn’t think like that anymore. So that’s something that will definitely be different this year, as I’ve already had Loki ‘fix’ him, as it were.

I am looking forward to exploring what that change did to him, as well as the relationship that he is building with Ynez. I think that the change into the General allowed him to see that he can continue to work towards peace without sacrificing the possibility of a real relationship. This will require that he make some changes from the life he had at St. Julien’s before, obviously, but it doesn’t mean that he can’t continue on in his work. He has already been doing research into ways that he can have both, with as few sacrifices as possible.

There is also the guilt aspect from what he did as the General, and the lives that were lost and hurt during that time as a direct result of his actions. I’m not yet sure exactly how that will affect him in the short and long term of things, but I think it will prove interesting to see how that develops as well. Due to the loss of another pup, I should have plenty of time to play with him and learn all these new and different aspects of his life.

So I suppose that my resolution for Darius is to try and spend some more time with him, and to see how he will further develop due to the circumstances of the past year.

It's interesting to think about the causes and effect if things. They (immortals) have so much that can be done with them so altering him in his own canon was an experiment for you and it worked because you now have more ways to approach the present.

Look forward to seeing how things pan out. Perhaps doing something together again. I'd have liked Kronos to go to the wake to see Darius, just for the fun of it, but you know what that's like with a Kronos muse. :D

*nods* That was pretty much the reason that I went with the idea of bringing back the General, although the relationship aspect was a bit of a surprise for both muns. *lol* It will allow for me to expand on him a bit though, and perhaps make him a bit more 'human', which I think is important for this pup.

*chuckles* Yeah, Kronos pups don't tend to do anything they don't want to do, or don't have a good reason to do. Perhaps later we can figure out a way to get them together. :)

That's good, although Tess is already going to go to jail for killing Aidan and Wes when they get back, so I guess if she had to kill Darius for being an asshole it wouldn't matter. ;)

I will add to others by saying it's a great thing to expand and even better when they have meaningful connections. *nods nods* He's a complexed character and you can take him really anywhere you choose and that will be fun for you! It will be interesting to see Ynez's and his relationship. I look forward to the New Year and reading the adventures.
