So. On the off chance there's anything to that nonsense: Hell for me is a given, isn't it?
Knowing you personally, how you feel about ‘that nonsense’, and what it would take according to Christianity to get you into heaven, I would have to say that it is indeed quite possible that hell would be the place that you would end up. Repenting is not exactly your style after all.
Do you think I could overthrow Lucifer?
I think that if there were anyone in hell who could, it would be you, or one of your brothers. However I think it would likely be quite difficult and I wouldn’t want to wager anything on the outcome.
Do you ever miss the killing?
No.
How long has it been since you had sex?
Around 842 years, give or take a year or two.
Why the Christian god?
There are a few reasons for that choice. One is that He had become very prominent in the world, and more people followed Him in Paris than they did any of the other Gods. Choosing Him meant I could reach more people. Also it is because I agree with many of the teachings in His book, even though I do not always agree with the teachings of the Church.

Standard question: Do you think people, in general, act more out of altruism or self-interest? Do we do "good" things for our own sake (i.e. to avoid guilt or feel warm fuzzies) or for the sake of others?
I believe that the recent relief effort for the tsunami victims shows that people tend to want to do good things for the sake of those who have been victims or who are less fortunate than they are. It all depends on the situation and the person really. Unfortunately though, as a whole human nature says that people will act out of self-interest much more often than they will out of altruism.
Why did you choose to become a priest?
To help people find peace.
Do you miss having a family?
I never really had a family to speak of, but as I tend to think of my friends as my family, I can’t say that I really miss having one.
If you could have dinner with anyone, alive or dead, who would you choose?
I always have a rather hard time deciding between Siddhartha Gautama and Jesus Christ.
Do you truly believe there is a Heaven and a Hell?
I believe that there is an existence beyond this one. I don’t know whether to call it heaven and hell or something else entirely, but I do believe it exists.

Do you think the Pope should really be a "job for life"? Even if the man is confined to a wheelchair, and can barely speak?
No. There comes a point when you have to look at what is best not only for the Pope himself as a man, but also for all the people of faith who look to that office for spiritual leadership. I find it hard to think that the people of the world would wish for him to continue in such a state as the one that he is now in.
Should women become priests?
I believe that anyone should be able to serve that wishes to do so. Gender should not be an issue.
What's your *real* opinion of Paul?
Paul is actually one of my favorite disciples. He spent his life persecuting people, and then one day he was touched by something that changed his entire life. He went against everything that he had believed before, changed who he was and how he lived, in order to try and show others the changes that had been brought to him. After he was changed the people he had known before turned against him, but then the people that he was trying to help didn’t always believe in him either.
He believed that his message was one that should be taught to all, not just a select few. He believed that faith could be enough to change a person’s life and that they should want to do good works because of that faith, not because they were forced to do so.
I believe that Paul was one of the best disciples that Early Christianity had, and I hope that one day he will be better understood.
What is your favorite song?
Mozart’s Requiem in d-minor.
What is your favorite odd food combination?
Peanut butter and brie on rye toast.

Do you ever get tired of wearing the same clothes all the time?
Contrary to popular belief I do change my robes on a regular basis. Of course I assume that you are talking about wearing the same kind of clothing, and the answer to that would be yes, on occasion I do sometimes get tired of brown.
Say you hadn't taken that Quickening, what do you think you'd be like today?
Most likely I would be similar to you or Evan. Well, perhaps a bit more like you all things considered.
Any bad habits? (And I'm not talking about the clothes this time.)
I still like the occasional glass of mead, and I've have been known to bite my fingernails on occasion.
Sex. Do you miss it?
On occasion I suppose, but it’s been so long that I don’t really think about it much anymore. All in all I miss the companionship more.
How about a game of chess sometime? When I'm back to myself again.
I’d be happy to play a game with you. It’s been a while however since I’ve had the chance to play, so I might be a bit rusty.[/lock]

Do you enjoy any outdoor games or sports, as spectator or to play?
I enjoy watching football on occasion, although I believe it is called Soccer over here.
Democrat or Republican?
Neither, as I am not yet an American citizen, and I’m not exactly sure about American politics at the moment so I’m unsure which I would choose, if either.
What parts of New York haven't you seen that you'd like to?
I haven’t seen much of anything yet, although I admit that I might like to see Central Park and perhaps a bit of Broadway, if I can ever manage to find the time.
Which is harder, fighting or letting someone else go off to do it?
Both are equally hard, but I think it would be more difficult for me to watch someone I care about go off and fight.
Do you believe in magic? Ever been tempted to try it?
I do believe in it, but I don’t think that I would have an affinity for it myself, nor have I been very tempted to try.

What does faith mean to you?
Faith means believing in something that can’t be touched. It means not backing down from those beliefs when others ridicule you for them, even if those others are friends. It means trusting in something bigger than yourself.
Does omniscience preclude free will?
No. If you know everything, then you also know all the different possibilities any one action will have. Just because you can see all the outcomes, doesn’t mean you don’t have a choice on which to choose.
Is God benevolent (and if so, why does evil exist)?
Yes, God is benevolent, and I believe that the best answer I have ever heard regarding evil was given by a man named Albert Einstein. Since I do not believe I can answer it better than that, I will let you see the story.
People seem to return from the dead surprisingly often; how do you reconcile that with Christian teachings?
I don’t attempt to reconcile it at all. Perhaps it was not yet time for those people to pass on. Maybe they had something left on this world that they needed to do. God does things for reasons that we have no knowledge of, and that may not be spoken of in the teachings, so I simply trust in Him.
Churches are notable for some amazing architecture; which is your favorite?
I admit to being partial to Notre Dame.

Why did you become a priest?
I wanted to be of help to others and help them to find some kind of peace in their lives.
How did you come to know the Lord?
I was helping to comfort the sick once when I saw a monk helping a dying man. He was comforting the man by telling him of what awaited him in the kingdom of heaven when he arrived. When the man finally passed on, there was such a compelling look of peace to his features that I wished to learn more and spent many a night talking to the monk.
If you weren't a priest, what would you be doing?
To be honest with you, I really don’t know. I have not really considered anything else.
If you could have one thing, any thing at all, regardless of time, money, etc, what would you want?
Peace.
What was your childhood like?
I remember very little of my childhood really. I moved around a lot as a child, and after a while it seemed like everything sort of blurred together.

Does God have a sense of humor, or am I going to Hell?
I believe that if God can create something like the platypus then he must indeed have a sense of humor.
Is Saint Christopher still actually a saint? I can't remember.
When the catholic church looked over the list of saints in the middle of the 20th century, they discovered that there was little proof that some of them had ever lived, having been based on myth and legend. It was decided at that time that Christopher was based mostly on legend and so he was dropped from the universal calendar. So technically he is no longer a saint, although there are still many places that consider him one.
How on Earth do you manage to be so calm in the face of adversity?
Years of practice and a soul at peace.
Is Jerry Falwell really as much of a fatass as I think he is?
I’m not sure, as I’ve never met the man in person.
What's the most important thing or concept to remember in your opinion?
To watch out for one another.
