The problem with talking about character flaws is that it asks us to decide between what is right, and what is wrong. We are forced to choose which of the things that make up the character of any one person is positive, and which is negative. And then on top of that you ask us to choose what is the worst flaw within ourselves, and many of us would not see something as a flaw that others might. Then there is the fact that something that is a flaw in one instance, may be a benefit in another.

Also, I have to wonder how it is that you define ‘worst’ in this instance?

Is that defined as something that is morally objectionable to others, or is it something that is simply not up to the standards of either myself or of the people around me? You see I have many flaws, and it can often be difficult to list them in an order from what is the worst, to what is not quite so bad.

For instance, I have been accused in the past of being something of a hypocrite, and I suppose that I can see why some who knew me in my youth might think that, and I know that there are times when I also believe that of myself. I also have a tendency to be stubborn when it comes to my own personal view on things. I have my beliefs, and they are not something that I am willing to change. Of course, that attitude includes the belief that there is some good in all people, regardless of how amoral and corrupt they may be.

Given my own past and the experiences I have had at the hands of others, I sometimes wonder if that way of thinking might actually be my biggest flaw.
